We are seeking an experienced and motivated Transportation Engineer
specializing in Transportation Systems Management & Operations (TSM&O)
to join our growing team.
The successful candidate will be primarily working
within the TSM&O group, while also gaining exposure to
traffic and roadway engineering projects.
Key Responsibilities
1
Lead and support TSM&O projects, including ITS engineering analysis, system
design, and implementation.

Conduct traffic signal operations and arterial management studies, including signal
timing optimization, traffic flow analysis, and adaptive signal control strategies.

Perform research, technical writing, and fieldwork to support signal operations,
smart work zones, and GIS-driven projects.

Develop system engineering documentation and technical studies related to TSM&O
strategies and implementation.

Evaluate ITS infrastructure, including fiber-optic communication systems, CCTV,
DMS, detection systems, and connected vehicle technologies.

Support project delivery by ensuring accuracy, completeness, and quality of
assigned tasks and deliverables.

Assist in producing engineering studies, including data collection, field
investigations, analysis, and technical report preparation.

Work closely with FDOT and local agencies on transportation projects, ensuring
compliance with agency guidelines and project delivery processes.

Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including roadway, traffic, and ITS
engineers, to develop integrated transportation solutions.

Stay up to date with emerging transportation technologies, including Connected &
Autonomous Vehicles (CAV), smart city applications, and advanced traffic
management systems.
Preferred Qualifications & Skills
· Experience working with FDOT, municipalities, or other transportation
agencies on ITS, traffic operations, and TSM&O projects.
· Expertise in ITS system analysis, including fiber-optic communication
networks, CCTV, DMS, and detection systems.
· Strong background in Freeway ITS, managed lanes, tolling operations,
and arterial management strategies.
· Knowledge of Connected & Autonomous Vehicle (CAV) technology
and its integration into transportation networks.
· Experience with System Engineering Documentation (SED)
for TSM&O projects.
· Familiarity with adaptive traffic signal control, dynamic message signs,
and real-time traffic management systems.
· Working knowledge of GIS tools and data analytics for transportation
applications.
· A passion for innovative transportation solutions and smart city initiatives.

PROJECT MANAGER - TSM&O
Full-Time
8-10 Years Experience following E.I. and P.E. license in FL

Bachelor’s degree:
Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering (with an emphasis in transportation)
or Electrical Engineering.

8-10 year of experience:
8-10 years of relevant experience in transportation engineering,
traffic operations, or ITS projects.

Strong understanding of:
Strong understanding of TSM&O principles, freeway operations,
arterial management, and traffic engineering.
4
Professional Engineer (PE):
Professional Engineer (P.E.) license in Florida or the ability
to obtain within six months.

Experience with FDOT:
Experience with FDOT project delivery processes, guidelines,
and technical standards.

Proficiency in:
Proficiency in traffic operations analysis tools (e.g., Synchro, VISSIM,
HCS, SIDRA, or other ITS-related software).

Experience working with FDOT:
Experience working with FDOT, municipalities, or other transportation
agencies on ITS, traffic operations, and TSM&O projects.
8
Ability to work:
Ability to work independently and in a collaborative team environment.
