Traffic Engineer
Full-Time
2+ Years experience following Engineer Intern (E.I.) certification in FL
Our engineering firm is seeking a Traffic Engineer to join our dynamic team.
This full-time position is ideal for a motivated engineer with a minimum
of 2 years of experience conducting traffic engineering studies and analyses.
The successful candidate will support a variety of transportation projects,
including traffic impact analyses, safety studies, signal warrant evaluations, and
corridor studies.
This role requires strong analytical skills, proficiency in traffic engineering software,
and a solid understanding of traffic control devices, roadway safety,
and capacity analysis. The ideal candidate is eager to grow within the field,
collaborate with a team of professionals, and contribute
to improving transportation systems.
Key Responsabilities
· Conduct traffic engineering studies, including traffic impact analyses,
operational assessments, safety evaluations, and signal warrant studies.
· Analyze traffic data such as volume counts, turning movement counts,
speed studies, and crash data.
· Utilize traffic engineering software (Synchro, HCS, CORSIM, and/or VISSIM)
to perform operational analyses.
· Prepare technical reports and memorandums summarizing findings
and recommendations.
· Develop roadway and intersection improvement recommendations based on
safety, capacity, and multimodal considerations.
· Coordinate with local, state, and federal agencies to ensure compliance
with traffic engineering guidelines (MUTCD, HCM, AASHTO Green Book, and
local design manuals).
· Conduct field visits to assess traffic conditions, roadway geometry, and
pedestrian/bicycle accommodations.
· Support senior engineers in project proposals, presentations, and stakeholder
coordination.
Preferred Qualifications:
1.
Experience working with FDOT and/or municipalities
on traffic studies and roadway projects.
2. Knowledge of Complete Streets
and multimodal transportation planning.
3. Familiarity with VISSIM for multimodal analysis.
4. Experience using GIS tools for spatial analysis in traffic studies.

Qualifications:
• Bachelors degree:
in Civil Engineering, Transportation Engineering, or a related field.
• Master’s degree:
in Civil or Transportation Engineering is a plus.
• 2 Yrs of experience:
in traffic engineering, with a focus on traffic
studies and operational analysis.
• Engineering Intern (EI) Certification:
EI Certification required;
passing the Professional Engineer (PE) exam is a plus.
• Traffic analysis software:
Proficiency in Synchro, HCS,
and other traffic analysis software is highly desirable.
• Writing & communication skills:
Strong technical writing and communication skills.
• Work independently and collaboratively:
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
in a team-oriented environment.
